The Salers cows are of remarkable fertility and provide good maternal care which enables speedy growth of the calves during the suckling period of rearing. By the weaning time at the age of 8 months the calves reach a live body weight of 230-280 kg without any additional feed. The milk producing abilities of the cows is 1800-2000 kg.
The bull-calves’ slaughter yield is 65-66%.
